My new favorite rear deltoid exercise is one you’ve probably never heard of: across-the-face pulls! It’s a way you can really load the rear delt like with face pulls, but sometimes when I do traditional face pulls I get a little more trapezius than I would like. This exercise, across-the-face pull, is very smooth and I feel all of it in my rear deltoid.
Just make sure you reach the entire time and keep protracted in your scapula. We are specifically targeting your rear delts with this exercises. My intention while performing the exercise is to envision my elbow hitting a person next to me rather than reaching around my body.
