“Jacob has helped transform all aspects of my life. He helped install a game plan with a set goal in mind, and made it really easy to understand that sticking to the script will lead to results.

At the beginning, tracking meals, hitting protein goals and even staying in a calorie deficit was a challenge, but once I was acclimated it became second nature. I was able to make substitutions in my diet while still being able to eat the majority of foods that I enjoy. Promix Protein Puff Bars

@promix was kind enough to send me these delicious Blueberries & Cream Protein Puff Bars. These things taste like a Rice Krispie treat. There’s way less sugar and there are no artificial ingredients so clearly it doesn’t taste exactly like one, but come on, be realistic- they’re pretty damn close.

They’re 150 calories with 15g protein so these suckers pass the test (10g protein per 100 calories). They also have 4g of fiber while being, again, delicious. These are going to stay in my protein bar rotation permanently.

These are my 5 favorite macro-friendly ice creams. If you never get a craving for ice cream then don’t bother reading this caption.

5️⃣ @cliosnacks Greek Yogurt Bars: I’m not a fan of the strawberry or blueberry, but the other flavors are absolutely insane. They taste like cheesecake.

4️⃣ @eatenlightened Light: I just find this to be the least tasty of all the macro-friendly ice creams, and some of the pints have well over 500 calories. If I’m going to have that many calories it’s going to be Häagen-Dazs.

3️⃣ @nicksicecreams Swedish-style ice cream: The macros on this are slightly inferior to Halo Top but the flavor is there on most of these pints.

2️⃣ @halotopcreamery with its new, creamier taste (says it on the label so it must be true): This has always been one of my top picks but it’s even better now and has 20g protein per pint.

👑 @yasso Greek yogurt bars: These things are so damn delicious. I honestly think it’s as close as possible to real ice cream. My only issue with it is trying to not eat all 4 bars that come in the package.

Mechanical Dropsetd

Here are a couple examples of mechanical dropsets. You can apply this conceptually to your training in order to intensify it or extend a set.

1️⃣ TRX row: You can start in a lowered position, once it gets challenging walk yourself up slightly and continue to progress the set

2️⃣ Pushups: Start with a traditional pushup. When you get tired, put your hands on an elevated surface so your shoulders are higher than your hips and you can extend this set doing this mechanically easier version.

Client spotlight: Antonio

Client spotlight: Antonio @antonio_did_ is a coaching client on @getverb who uses my app for his workouts. I’ve only had the pleasure of meeting him once in real life, during which time I took him through a brutal leg day session. Antonio has had a lot of success getting stronger and putting on muscle. Filet mignon is among one of the leanest cuts of steak

Filet mignon comes from the tip of the tenderloin. When I’m out to dinner I opt for a petite filet mignon. Why does restaurant food taste better? Because let’s face it, it’s covered in butter, sugar, and oil.

If I’m eating at home, I’m going to get a larger cut of filet mignon. I’m going to put some salt and pepper on it and throw it on the grill, no butter needed. If I’m going to make something like steak tacos or stir fry, then I’m going to opt for the rest of the tenderloin that’s cheaper but still very trim.

Lunch at Bluestone Lane

Clearly I really like this place. I found @bluestonelane to be very easy to navigate for smoothies and breakfast. It’s a little more challenging for lunch because many of the entrees are around 800 calories- of course the burgers and fried chicken are going to be caloric, but even some of the salads and wraps are on the heavy side for me.

But I really enjoyed the experience here and the spiced chicken wrap was delicious. For a quick eats establishment it has an amazing ambience.

Rear Delt Training Mistakes

Two major reasons why people screw up their rear delt training:

1️⃣ They squeeze their shoulder blades together when in fact they should be reaching to the entire range of motion. Think about keeping the wrists away from the shoulders the entire time you’re pulling. Squeezing your shoulder blades together is great for your lats and mid back muscles, not so much for your rear delts.

2️⃣ They don’t train their rear delts intensely enough. You should be going for broke when doing lateral raises or reverse flies. Your deltoids can train to nearly the brink of failure. You need to push yourself when doing these exercises.
