Doritos, Oreos, many processed foods contain fats sometimes found from seed oil in order to preserve them longer. This does not mean that many of these fats are inherently bad. If you want to perform at your best, the harsh reality is you’re going to need 7-9 hours of sleep a night 😴 The minimum recommendation for an adult is 7 hours.

Three things you need to do to improve your recovery:

Do Push-ups Build Muscle?

Are push-ups efficient to build muscle❓ It depends how strong you are.

If you can do 30+ reps of push-ups with ease, then it’s not sufficient for building strength or muscle. They could still be useful for general physical preparedness or to throw in the midst of a circuit. But if you want to build muscle or get stronger, you’re going to need something more challenging. Here are two push-up progressions.

1️⃣ Deficit push-ups: A greater range of motion on your push-up = a more difficult push-up. You’ll get a deep stretch at the bottom with this progression.

2️⃣ Weighted push-ups: Throw a weight on your back or put some miscellaneous objects in a backpack. Now you have a greater load which, if it results in you being able to get less than 30 reps, means it becomes useful for building muscle.

People Often Struggle to Feel their Lats when Training Back

People often struggle to feel their lats when training back. I find two exercises in particular are great for everyone to train lats: supinated lat pulldowns and chest-supported rows, which you can see my client Kyle demonstrating here. Besides those exercises, it’s a case by case basis. You have to go through trial and error to find exercises that work for you. That’s why people hire me.

Kyle has been a long-term coaching client on @getverb. You might remember his past transformation post, and he’s now in the process of lean bulking and putting on muscle. He comes in to see me in person from time to time for a tune up. In this case we’ve found that a variation on the one-arm row is successful to help him feel his lats.

There is a stigma around testosterone replacement therapy that is completely unnecessary. Having low testosterone puts you at an increased risk of heart disease, prostate cancer, and a number of other health complications. Taking testosterone replacement therapy will not make you jacked in itself, but with proper nutrition and a serious weight training regimen it will absolutely enhance it. No guys, TRT is not the same thing as buying steroids that were designed for horses from some sketchball you met at the gym 🐎
