Today, I’m reviewing Nick’s Fat Bars.
Ok, they’re protein bars. But the majority of the calories in these things come from fat.
Some background here: Nick’s was actually caught up in an EPG scandal surrounding David Protein Bars. Nick’s ice cream used to use a fermented form of fat that’s not bioavailable and can’t be digested by the human body. David’s bought the company that produced it and stopped selling it to everyone else.
Regarding these bars, here’s what’s in them.
MACROS:
❌200 calories (majority of these are coming from fat)
❌15g of protein (does NOT pass the protein test)
✅5g of fiber (that’s good)
✅no added sugar (impressive, considering the taste)
INGREDIENTS: Protein blend, soluble corn fiber, seed oil. Sorry, ingredient snobs, but for me, these aren’t big concerns as long as the rest of your diet is in order.
TASTE TEST: These things taste awesome. No surprise, because of the fat content. These are more of a fat bar than a protein bar, so I wouldn’t recommend these for hitting your protein goals, but they do taste great.
