Wegmans has a crazy selection of protein bars. Here are some you can pick up on your next grocery run:

1️⃣ @Questnutrition – The OG of the protein bar game. Oatmeal chocolate chip is my personal favorite.
2️⃣ @BuiltBar – This is my favorite protein bar. The chocolate chip cookie dough is bonkers good.
3️⃣ @Barebells – This is a favorite protein bar among most of my clients and my girlfriend. It tastes like a candy bar!
4️⃣ @One1Brands – This is my dark horse protein bar pick. The taste is great and the macros are fantastic.
5️⃣ @NoCow – This is my #1 pick for plant-based protein bar even though the texture isn’t my favorite.
6️⃣ @EpicBar – This is more like a jerky if you’re looking for a more natural source of protein.
7️⃣ @OfficialPureProtein – Low price point and a cult-like following. I enjoy these but wish the fiber was a little higher.
8️⃣ @FitCrunchBars – This is my least favorite pick of the eight protein bars in this video but they can be found everywhere and the price is great.

InBody at xFit Labs

Getting a body composition analysis at the start of your fitness journey is an important step in monitoring your progress. Remember: you can’t manage what you don’t measure.

InBody is a body composition analysis machine that uses bioelectrical impedance to measure various components of your body such as muscle mass, fat mass, and water content.

Some gyms have InBody machines that you can use or you can make an appointment at a place that specializes in these tests like XFit Labs here with Isaiah.

InBody does have a significant enough margin of error that it can’t tell you objectively how much body fat you have. Instead, you should use this tool to track your trajectory. I would recommend using an InBody approximately every 3 months or to track which direction your body fat is headed.

If you are signed up for my coaching, we can interpret your body composition analysis and keep record of how you are progressing throughout our programming. It’s always a good idea to get your InBody regularly so you can assess and use that information to achieve your health and fitness goals.

2️⃣ Keep slight bend in your knees, hinge hips back slightly to minimize momentum

3️⃣ Upper arms should stay completely stationary. Hinge only through the elbows. Straighten your arms and focus on extending your elbows fully at the bottom of the movement.

4️⃣ things to consider before starting Testosterone Replacement Therapy

1️⃣ Natural testosterone boost: Prioritize 7 hours of sleep and maintain 15-20% body fat for optimal testosterone. Include weight training and balanced nutrition to support testosterone production. Physiology is heartless – it doesn’t care about stress, your career, or the fact you have kids.

2️⃣ Herbs and supplements: Ashwagandha, Rhodiola, DHEA, and Vitamin D can aid in testosterone support. None of these supplements are a complete gamechanger, but they can help move the needle forward.

3️⃣ Clomiphene medication: Clomiphene, a tablet prescription, effectively raises testosterone in 2-4 months without injections or long-term use. It’s never gonna get your testosterone around the same levels as TRT but it is a less hardcore alternative that doesn’t require you to take medication for the rest of your life.

4️⃣ Mindset and commitment: Exhaust non-TRT options first and commit to regular, quarterly doctor visits. Integrate TRT into a lifelong commitment to health, including preventive testing and a healthy lifestyle. Discuss family planning and ensure proper medical supervision throughout the process. Also, make sure you’re on the same page with loved ones.

3️⃣ Focus on bending your arms. This may sound obvious, but many people rely on their shoulders to perform a curl. Instead, we need to focus on arm flexion. Concentrate on your elbows bending at the top of the curl and straightening your arms at the bottom of the exercise.

What is the difference between grass-fed vs traditional beef? The biggest difference is grass-fed beef contains Omega-3s and CLAs. While both of these are beneficial to your health, the amount of ALAs (Omega-3s) is not enough to make a significant difference in your health markers. The biggest thing I look at when buying meat is how lean it is. In this case, both options are 93/7 so I would opt for the more budget friendly choice.

Client spotlight: Stephen Couvillion is a coaching client on @getverb who lost 26+lbs working with me for 7 months on my Transformation program. Here’s what I had to say about our experience working together.

When Stephen came to me he was struggling with binge eating and overconsumption of sweet treats. He was a personal trainer and had an extensive background in nutrition before we started working together. The accountability piece was crucial for him. We really worked on portion control and looking at his daily calories as a budget. This mindset shift helped Stephen incorporate the foods he loved into his routine while staying within his calorie budget so that he could lose body fat. Stephen started the program at 236 in May 2023 and ended the program around 210. Stephen’s discipline and coachability was outstanding. He has been an absolute joy to work with.
