Red potatoes might be the most nutrient dense potatoes

If you want to get technical, red potatoes may be the most nutritious potatoes. I’m going to encourage you to eat whatever you like- sweet potatoes, Idaho potatoes, red potatoes, they’re all high in nutrients for a carbohydrate. But technically speaking, red potatoes may be the most nutrient dense.

When you look at the amount of potassium, total amount of minerals, and phytochemicals, they pack a major punch. They’re also what’s known as a high-volume food, meaning you can eat a lot more red potatoes than you could eat something like rice for the same amount of calories. They take up a lot of room in your stomach, making you feel fuller longer.

Things we know about collagen

Research is still being conducted about collagen, but the evidence seems promising about what it does and doesn’t do.

1️⃣ Cosmetic benefits- it helps with skin, nails, and hair. This is pretty much proven at this point.

2️⃣ It helps support ligament and joint health. Evidence seems to be mounting that collagen is actually effective for strengthening your ligaments and tendons.

3️⃣ Collagen does not allow your body to achieve muscle protein synthesis. To put it simply, collagen is not effective for building muscle. You should be using other protein sources to achieve that goal.

3 things you need to know about creatine:

3 things you need to know about creatine:

1️⃣ Creatine monohydrate is the cheapest and most effective creatine. Other forms of creatine exist solely for supplement companies to make money.

2️⃣ You need to take 5g of creatine daily for it to be effective. It doesn’t matter when you take it as long as you take it consistently.

3️⃣ Loading creatine is unnecessary. You can stay on creatine monohydrate long term.

Mr. Chen’s

I’m at a Chinese restaurant and I’m getting the steamed chicken, steamed broccoli, and brown rice. That’s because it’s not a special occasion, it’s just another day in the ‘hood.

When it’s not a special occasion we’re eating minimalistic. Focus on lean protein and veggies when we go out to eat. Even with the veggies, make sure they’re not drenched in oil.

If it IS a special occasion, which will be ~50 days out of the year, prepare for it. Get what you want, but compensate with your meal choices throughout the rest of the day.
